Profile

Agnès is the Language Centre Web & Communications Coordinator who specialises in Graphic Design, Web and Social Media Content Development.

Her responsibilities include designing, planning and updating the external web server, and, as Communications Coordinator, she is also responsible for providing regular updates and relevant advertising by posting on the Language Centre's social media platforms, whilst liaising with content providers to organise and disseminate focussed and relevant information about advertising Language Centre activities and events.

Originally from France, Agnès came to the UK in 1991, whilst she wrote up her Master's dissertation (with distinction) in English and Linguistics. She spent 5 years in Manchester teaching French at different HE levels and in Adult Education, before she joined the University of Cambridge Language Centre to take part in one of the first video-conferencing broadband EC funded research project (LEVERAGE, 1996-1999) as a Research Assistant. Since then, after becoming a Computer Officer - Developer, she has helped produce numerous exciting language learning materials for the Cambridge University Language Programmes (CULP) and other external projects (BBC, etc.).

Her interests lie in language learning and pedagogy with the use of innovative and interactive technologies including relevant and engaging audio-visual content and more recently VR and AI.
