Language Teacher: Russian (part-time)

Hourly Paid (£43.42 per teaching hour )

The Cambridge University Language Programmes (CULP) is seeking to appoint a Language Teacher (Russian). The role holder will be expected to deliver two to three general language classes (2 hours per week each group, 15 weeks) during Michaelmas and Lent terms (October to March). In 2021-22 teaching is most likely to be conducted via Zoom.

Our learners include undergraduate and graduate students and University staff, as well as members of the general public.

You will have experience of teaching Russian at University level (UK/worldwide), with special emphasis on teaching Ab Initio (Basic-1) and post-Ab Initio (Basic-2) students, a degree in languages or applied linguistics and a recognised qualification in teaching Russian as a foreign language, and native/near-native command of Russian and fluent English.

You will have excellent interpersonal, intercultural and communication skills, ability to motivate a wide range of learners, prepare and deliver lessons independently as well as work as part of a team. You will be a competent user of IT and multimedia, confident in the design and production of digital teaching materials and the use of Virtual Learning Environments (Moodle). Experience in teaching online remotely via Zoom, MS Teams or similar would be welcome.

You will have excellent interpersonal, intercultural and communication skills, the ability to motivate a wide range of learners, prepare and deliver lessons independently as well as work as part of a team. You will be a competent user of IT and ideally, with experience in teaching remotely online (e.g. Zoom or MS Teams), confident in the design and production of digital teaching materials (i.e. PPP) and the integration into teaching of Virtual Learning Environments (Moodle).
