ADTIS Administrator

The role provides administrative support to the ADTIS (Academic Development & Training for International Students) team within the Language Centre.

ADTIS activities play a key role in relation to the University's international admissions functions and Student Visa compliance procedures in relation to the meeting of language conditions. The role holder will play a key role in maintaining effective administrative procedures and providing a professional and efficient administrative service for the ADTIS team, which currently includes one Director and three members of teaching staff, plus a variety of seasonal short-term and hourly-paid appointments. The role is the first point of contact for all ADTIS enquiries and supports the administration of teaching of: ca. 70 students for an intensive summer Pre-Sessional course and ca. 200 students engaged on a 12-month In-Sessional programme; and administers around 1,300 English Language Assessments each year. The role comprises close liaison and cooperation with a wide range of other departments and sections of the University in relation to the admission of and support for international students.

Educated to at least A-level standard, or with equivalent experience, you will have prior experience of working in an administrative / secretarial post, and in a customer-facing role. You will have excellent administrative, organisational, and communication skills, and the ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure, to prioritise your own workload, to work with minimum supervision. You will be able to identify and analyse problems, and suggest solutions.
