Heather Sayer

Profile

Heather joined the Advising team in July 2005 and works on the reception desk, welcoming visitors and answering any enquiries the Language Centre receives.  

Aside from general reception duties for the learning centre and the department, she manages the Conversation Exchange scheme, helps administer the Conversation Hours and catalogues self-study resources.

Heather graduated from Anglia Ruskin University in 2003 with a BA in English and has previously worked at the University Library.

Catherine Cossio

Profile

Catherine joined the advising team in 2013 initially as temporary cover for the Reception desk and now works permanently as Resources and Learner Support Coordinator.

She is responsible for ordering resources, managing our Friends without Frontiers volunteer scheme, cataloguing films and supports the administration of the Conversation Hours.

She also developed our Study Abroad Moodle site and offers study abroad advising appointments.

Catherine enjoys languages and graduated from the University of East Anglia in 2006 with a BA in French.

Terigele Teneg

Profile

Terigele joined the Language Centre Advising Team in September 2022 as a resource and learner support assistant (maternity cover). 

Terigele is originally from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China. 

She received an honours degree from Minzu University of China in 2011, specialising in Mongolian Language and Literature. She is literate in the Mongolian script, the Cyrillic script and the Phags-pa script. 

She moved to the UK in 2014 and received her master's degree in Translation Studies at Cardiff University in Wales. She completed a PhD in Translation Studies at the Queen’s University Belfast in 2021. 

She has been teaching Mongolian to adult learners for over five years. She is also affiliated with the Mongolia and Inner Asia Unit of the Department of Social Anthropology at Cambridge University. 

Her research interests are in the fields of language ideology, bilingualism, digraphia, language policy and second language acquisition.
