Heather Sayer

Profile

Heather joined the Advising team in July 2005 and works on the reception desk, welcoming visitors and answering any enquiries the Language Centre receives.  

Aside from general reception duties for the learning centre and the department, she manages the Conversation Exchange scheme, helps administer the Conversation Hours and catalogues self-study resources.

Heather graduated from Anglia Ruskin University in 2003 with a BA in English and has previously worked at the University Library.

Catherine Cossio

Profile

Catherine joined the advising team in 2013 initially as temporary cover for the Reception desk and now works permanently as Resources and Learner Support Coordinator.

She is responsible for ordering resources, managing our Friends without Frontiers volunteer scheme, cataloguing films and supports the administration of the Conversation Hours.

She also developed our Study Abroad Moodle site and offers study abroad advising appointments.

Catherine enjoys languages and graduated from the University of East Anglia in 2006 with a BA in French.


Alina Bykova

Alyna Bykova

Profile

Alina joined the Language Centre in May 2024.

As the initial point of contact at our Centre, she diligently performs all standard reception duties. She is always willing to lend a hand within her capacity, contributing to the efficient operation of the Centre. 

Alina hails from Kyiv, Ukraine, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and German Philology. 

Her previous professional experience includes a role as a Filing Administrator at The Queen’s Veterinary School Hospital. 

In addition to her proficiency in English and German, Alina possesses foundational knowledge of Italian and Latin.
