Profile
Rishi is a second year PhD student at St. John’s College and the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, University of Cambridge.
Rishi completed his Bachelors in Economics from St. Xavier’s College – Autonomous, Mumbai in 2016. He studied Sanskrit language, literature, and linguistics during high school and college years, and then spent a year at the University of Oxford pursuing a Masters in Pāṇinian Sanskrit linguistics.
Rishi began a PhD in the same field at the University of Cambridge in 2017.
Rishi speaks Gujarati (mother tongue) and Hindi/Urdu with native fluency, is proficient in Marathi, English and Sanskrit, can read Bangla and Punjabi, and is presently studying Persian at Cambridge.
Rishi is interested in developing effective curricula for second language acquisition of Indo-Aryan languages by other Indo-Aryan and English language speakers.
