This book, a re-print of the original printed in 1967, is designed to help intermediate learners of Urdu to move towards reading authentic Urdu literature.

Contains a selection of traditional texts, each becoming progressively more difficult, with accompanying notes and glossaries. Where deemed neccessary the texts have been abridged to compensate for archaic use of language or particularly difficult and complex structures.

The Urdu script is presented in nastaliq calligraphy.
