Originally compiled by the Inter-mission Language Council in 1968, this handbook on the language of Eritrea has been updated over the years.

It presents the material in short and clear chapters starting with an introduction on the script and alphabet and moving on to cover the main grammatical aspects of the language (with tables of nouns, pronouns, verbs).

It provides about 200 everyday phrases (in Tigrinya with English translation) suitable for beginner learners.
