Volume II of 'An account of the natives of the Tonga Islands, in the South Pacific Ocean with an original grammar and vocabulary of their language'; this book was first printed in 1817 and was compiled from notes left by William Mariner, an Englishman who lived for several years on the islands.

It looks at the manners, customs, religion and language used by the islands' inhabitants.

This volume also has a chapter on Tongan grammar and a Tongan - English vocabulary list.
