A beginner level course comprising a text and 4 accompanying sound cassettes.

The course covers 12 lessons and phonetic drills followed by vocabulary and expressions relating to events such as sightseeing and travelling, shopping, visiting the post office and temple, meeting a doctor etc.

Briefly introduces the differences in the Tamil dialect: South Indian Tamil is compared with Ceylon (Sri Lankan Jaffna) Tamil.
