Beginning Slovak : a course for the individual or classroom learner

An introductory language course with cultural references. Lessons consist of dialogues, grammatical commentary, vocabulary lists, practice and translation exercises, and texts for reading.
Authentic conversations focus on family and home life, work, study, shopping, meals, and other practical circumstances. Grammar is contextualised. Equal emphasis is given to reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
The learner who masters this course will be able to understand native Slovak speakers, communicate with them in various everyday situations, and read basic texts. Suitable also as preparation for summer language programmes at Slovak universities.
