The film is set in a prisoner of war camp in Crimea in November 1920 where thousands of officers are left behind after the evacuation of the White Army.

The officers are waiting to learn their fate from the Red Army officials but are unaware of the impending doom which lies ahead.

In Russian throughout, with no subtitles.
