A start-from-scratch beginner level course with book and CD.

First three chapters introduce the history and development of the Russian language, the cyrillic alphabet (which has to be mastered before progressing) and pronunciation.

Each subsequent chapter begins with a clear explanation of a new grammar structure followed by simple vocabulary and illustrative sentences, lots of cultural advice and listening and speaking excercises on the CD.
