The Concert

Radu Mihaileanu (2010)

The film focuses on the character of Andreî, who works as a cleaner in a theatre where he once worked as the conductor for the Bolshoi Orchestra.

After losing his job as a conductor 25 years earlier when he refused to fire Jewish musicians, he plans to resurrect his career in Paris for a one off performance.

In Russian throughout with some French and with optional English subtitles.
