Based on the novel of the same name by Lidia Jorge, it is set during the war of in-dependency and tells the story of Evita who moves to Mozambique from Lisbon to marry Luís.

She faces some harsh realities in her new life as her husband is sent off on a military mission and she witnesses racism, violence and injustice on a scale she's never seen before.
