A short story is about a little black fish that is dissatisfied with his life in a small brook and so goes off in search of the sea, to find adventure and discover life in other parts of the world.

It has been banned off and on over the years in Iran due to Its anti-authoritarian message has seen the book intermittently banned in Iran.
