The film is adapted from a novel by Shahrnush Parsipur and is set in 1953 during a time of political unrest when a military coup d'état in Iran was threatening to depose the Prime Minister.

Tells the stories of 4 women who struggle in a male dominated society and reveal the downfall of their country.
