The film explores the themes of love, adultery and voyeurism through the strange encounter between Tomek, a lonely young post office clerk living with his godmother, and Magda, an artist who lives in the flat opposite.

Tomek starts spying on her and soon his life is taken over by the intrigue of her affairs.
