First Polish Reader is aimed at beginners and pre-intermediate learners of Polish. The book begins by introducing the Polish alphabet and pronunciation and is then divided into an Elementary section and a Pre-intermediate section.

There are 29 chapters in total, each featuring a reading extract with English translation and grammar explanations. This course employs ALARM (Approved Learning Automatic Remembering Method) where the author only uses words introduced in the previous chapters.
