Set in 1979 in a Pakistani village on the border with India, this film follows the political evolution of the country, the advent of fundamentalism and the consequences for ordinary women.
It centers around a widow and her 18-year-old son, who gets involved in the Islamic revolution, and breaks off with his beloved but career-oriented girlfriend.
