The course is designed to provide the basics of the Maasai language and useful expressions and vocabulary required by peace keeping forces arriving in the host country.

It comprises 19 units containing dialogues, exercises and vocabulary lists, with English translation; cultural explanations are included and a section is devoted to specific competencies required of the volunteers.
