The handmaiden

Park Chan-wook (2017)

Based on the book "Fingersmith" by Sarah Waters, the story is set in 1930s Korea during Japanese occupation.

A Korean woman is hired as handmaiden to a young Japanese lady and is secretly plotting with a conman to seduce her and defraud her of her large inheritance. Things however do not quite go according to plan, as unexpected emotions and double-dealing start to interfere.

In Korean throughout with some spoken Japanese and with English subtitles.
