The Gacaca trilogy
Anne Aghion (2009)
After the Rwandan genocide which saw the massacre of 800,000 people in 100 days, community courts (Gacaca Tribunals) were set up to judge the crimes: the three films presented in this trilogy were shot over a few years to follow the evolution of the justice and reconciliation process.
Winner of the 2003 Unesco Fellini Prize and the 2005 Emmy Award, the documentary will be of particular interest to researchers, students of history and anthropology.
