The film is a romantic comedy and was made in 1952 and follows two newleyweds, Wanda and Ivan, as they arrive in Rome for their honeymoon.

Ivan is hoping to gain an audience with the Pope and introduce Wanda to his family but his plans are thrown into chaos when Wanda sneaks off to find the hero of her romance novels.
