The film is a drama, set in a small northern Italian town where A new teacher called Mara arrives at the local school and arouses curiosity amongst the people there.

Giovanni, an 18-year-old keen to break into the world of journalism, begins monitoring Mara closely in the hope of finding a tantalising story.
