Recorded stage production of Donizetti's opera.

Based on 'The Bride of Lammermoor' by Sir Walter Scott, Gaetano Donizetti's opera begins with Enrico Ashton learning that his sister Lucia is secretly in love with his arch-enemy Edgardo Ravenswood. After Edgardo is forced to travel abroad, Enrico sabotages their relationship and tricks Lucia into marrying Lord Arturo Bucklaw. When Edgardo returns, however, Lucia realises her mistake but loses her mind.
