Sentimental comedy set during the Holocaust.

The clownish Guido arrives in the town of Arezzo and begins to woo schoolteacher Dora. Years later, the pair are happily married with a son, Giosué, until the family is deported to a German-run concentration camp. Determined to protect his son, Guido convices Giosué that the camp and everyone in it are part of a game and that the winner will receive a tank. (Cert. PG)
