Tells the story of Florio, a young man arriving in Italy in the heat of summer who encounters, one sleepless night, a marble stature of the goddess Venus.

Enraptured by the beauty of the statue he is amazed to meet her likeness in a living woman who invites him to her home where things are not how they first appear.
