A semi-autobiographical film by director Konrad Wolf, depicting some of his experiences as a young soldier in the Soviet army towards the end of World War 2.

As a German native speaker he is at the forefront of a variety of difficult and often almost surreal situations as the group encounters many different attitudes to the impending German surrender.

In German and some Russian, with English subtitles.
