Rainer Wenger, a teacher in a German high school (Gymnasium) sets up an unorthodox experiment during the schools project week on "anarchy", aiming to teach about the dangers of fascism and to demonstrate on campus what life is like under a dictatorship.

During the week the dynamics of the class change, the movement has gains support on campus but it is already getting out of hand, and Herr Wenger is unable to stop tragic events from escalating.
