In 1945 Germany, in the final stages of the war, a group of seven newly recruited Bavarian teenagers are determined to defend a strategically useless bridge, as truckloads of defeated Wehrmacht soldiers flee the oncoming American soldiers.

The Austrian director’s debut film is a powerful, depressing look at the meaningless destruction of war; and madness of war.
