Adapted from the unfinished play by 19th century dramatist Georg Büchner, the story revolves around a low-rank soldier, Woyzeck, stationed in a provincial German town.

To earn extra money to support his family, he agrees to some medical experiments which impact on his physical strength and mental health with dramatic consequences.
