The film is set in 1922 and tells the story of a young mail order bride who is aboard a ship bound for her new husband in Chicago.

On her way there she meets and falls in love with an American photographer who is returning to his failed marriage in America.

In English primarily with some spoken Russian, Greek and Italian, and with optional Greek subtitles.
