Based on the novel by Gustave Flaubert, this is the tale of a woman yearning for romance who will not be satisfied with her role as a meek wife in a provincial town.
Emma Rouault is initially swept off her feet by Dr Bovary, but she finds their marriage lacks the passion and excitement she is looking for and so she embarks on a double life as devoted wife and seductive mistress.
