This is Michel Brault's first fictional feature work which closely follows the true life experiences of Claude Gauthier, an exceptionally talented and immensely popular French Canadian "chansonnier" of the 1960s and 70s.
The main story told in this film is rooted in the ideological, political and social circumstances of Quebec in the 60s.
In French, with optional French or English subtitles. Includes Quebec colloquialism and some strong language.
