Irma Vep

A story set in Paris where a declining film director, René Vidal, attempts to recreate a glamorous silent adventure serial 'Les Vampires' about a gang of jewel thieves led by the wicked and deadly Irma Vep. In the starring role, he casts the Hong Kong actress Maggie Cheung, even though she speaks no French. When Maggie gets frustrated with the director's bizarre behaviour and cast in-fighting, she begins to enact her criminal role for real.

In French throughout with some English and with English subtitles.
