This film explores the real story of the life of Séraphine Louis, known as 'Séraphine de Senlis', a self-taught painter who was inspired by her religious faith.
The film begins in 1914, when German art collector, Wilhelm Uhde, rents an apartment nearby. A moving and unexpected relationship develops between the collector and artist.
