Les LIP, l'imagination au pouvoir
Christian Rouaud (2007)
This documentary uses new interviews and archival news and footage to recount the story of the Lip watch factory strike and worker takeover of 1973-75 in Besançon.
Supported by thousands across France and Europe, this strike was eventually broken up by armed intervention and the imposition by the French government of new management.
An interesting exploration of the psychology behind reformism, the position of workers on the production line and the values often attributed to the bygone era of a production-centred factory economy.
