This film portrays the massacres that took place in Casamance in southern Senegal in 1942, When the Vichy government sent troops to round up young men to fight as soldiers in World War 2.
A conflict arose between the French army and a Senegal Diola-speaking tribe over requisitions of rice supplies and the army opened fire on the villagers as the village women organised their men to sit beneath a tree to pray to their gods.
In French and Doila, no subtitles.
