La rafle du Vel d'Hiv, 16-17 juillet, 1942 : 50 ans après
Finger, Blanche and Karel, William, 1992
This documentary was produced for the occasion of the fifty year anniversary of the events of 16th and 17th July, 1942, when thousands of Jews in Paris were rounded up by the French police and imprisoned with their families in a winter cycling stadium, le Vélodrome d’hiver.
Following an introduction to the events that led to the round-up, ten survivors who were children aged between four and sixteen at the time describe their experiences. These poignant first-hand accounts are interspersed with narrative and accompanied by archival images.
In French with no subtitles.
