This poignant war film depicts the experiences of five indigenous Algerian soldiers called upon in 1943 by the French colonial forces to fight for the liberation of the mainland from German occupation.

This film explores relationships within the military hierarchy between superior French nationals, the Pieds noirs (colonists of European descent but born in Algeria) and the soldiers indigenous to Algeria
