Pierre Granier-Deferre (1982)

The film is based on the novel of the same name by Georges Simenon. It follows Edouard Binet who has been travelling for several years in North Africa and we first meet him en route to Belgium where he meets Sylvie Baron.

He introduces her to Nemrod, a rich Egyptian and the two soon start up an affair, making Edouard jealous. When Nemrod is killed on a train, all eyes turn to Edouard but he denies any involvement...
