Odd-couple fable set in the small town of Annonay.

At a deserted railway station, retired poetry teacher Manesquier meets gangster Milan. The two strike up an unlikely friendship and gradually learn about each other's lives. As they get to know each other, Manesquier and Milan come to realise they might have fared better had their destinies been switched. (Cert. 12A)
