Drama set in Canada at the turn of the century.
In spite of all social conventions, Rose-Aimée leaves her family in the care of a relative to accompany her husband, Joseph-Albert, on his annual tour as an itinerant photographer. Feeling dissatisfied with their marriage, Rose-Aimée hopes the trip will bring her and her husband closer together. But as the couple travel through the harsh Canadian countryside, the route to marital fulfilment looks set to be a difficult one.
