Drama about a childhood affected by war.

Paulette is a little girl who lost both parents and her beloved dog in an air raid. After drifting away from a group of refugees, she is taken in by Michel Dollé, a young peasant boy, and his family. As a way of coping with the deaths all around them, the two children create an animal cemetery, adorned with memorial stones from a local churchyard.
