Drama adapted from the novel by Victor Hugo.

Jean Valjean is conditionally released after being imprisoned for a minor offence. Although he manages to start a new life, he is still pursued by the officious and resolute Javert. When his daughter falls in love with a revolutionary, Valjean is forced to come out of hiding and join the fight.
