French-language version of an Egyptian film.

Based on the novel by Andrée Chedid, the film is set in Egypt during the time of the cholera outbreak. Washerwoman Saddika tries to help her cholera-stricken grandson Hassan escape from quarantining, with the help of Okka, a monkey tamer. The film is preceded by 'Femmes d'Egypte', showing Andrée Chadid and Safaa Fathy in conversation with Annie Lamoine.
