Biographical film loosely adapted from the book by Georges-Marc Benamou dramatizing the last years of François Maurice Adrien Marie Mitterrand (1916-1996), President of France from 1981 to 1995.

Focuses largely on Mitterrand’s attitude towards death and his struggle with cancer, it also raises questions about the President’s political history, especially the nature of his position within the wartime Vichy government.
