Helen Mirren's oscar-winning performance as Queen Elizabeth II of England, in a fictionalised account of her actions and feelings at the time of the sudden death of Princess Diana in 1997.

The film portrays how the head of government (Tony Blair), the head of the royal family and the media manage (or are managed by) the overwhelming grief of the English nation.
