This comedy film presents a purely fictional account of the creation of Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet'.

The play portrays a young William Shakespeare down on his luck and suffering with writer's block who becomes suddenly inspired to write the tender love story when he meets and falls in love with beautiful aristocrat Viola De Lesseps.
