Jacob is a Danish relief worker who reluctantly returns to Copenhagen from India to meet Jørgen, a wealthy businessman and potential benefactor who has offered a great deal of money which will protect the orphanage where he works from closing.

. Jørgen invites Jacob to his daughter's wedding the next day and this starts a series of surprises, revelations, confessions, and unspoken events that change everyone's lives forever.
