The Party and the Guests is a controversial and slightly subversive political satire which was "banned forever" in Czechoslovakia in 1973.
The film starts with a group of friends having a picnic before a birthday banquet when they are abducted by a mysterious group of thugs and forced to play out a strange game - until the host of the party arrives to take them to the banquet, apologizing for their ill-treatment. When one of the guests tries to leave a manhunt ensues...
